WHAT IS A PRECINCT?
- A precinct is the basic unit of voters. Your precinct determines your polling place.
- There are 249 precincts in Macomb County and we want at least one Democrat Precinct Delegate on the ballot in every one of them.
- Every election begins at the precinct. If you want to win the election, you’ve got to win the precincts.
YOUR PRECINCT NEEDS YOU!
WHAT IS MY PRECINCT?
Many communities have updated their precincts in the last few years, so it’s easy to forget what your current precinct number is!
- The best way to find this information is to go to: Mi.Gov/Vote
- Towards the left side, click: Am I Registered?
- Search by using: Search for your voter information or Search by driver’s license number
- Your precinct number will be on that page!

HOW DO I BECOME A PRECINCT DELEGATE?
WHAT IS A PRECINCT DELEGATE?
A Precinct Delegate is the grassroots representative of the Michigan Democratic Party (MDP) in their local voting precinct. As the foundation of the Democratic movement, Precinct Delegates connect voters in their neighborhood with the party, mobilize Democratic turnout, and help shape the future of the party at the local, state, and national levels.
PRECINCT DELEGATE PERKS
- When candidates reach out to Macomb Dems and want to get to know Macomb County, the Precinct Delegate list is one of the first lists we send them — it’s not often you get to have one-on-one conversations with candidates!
- Macomb Dems often receives seats to cool events when fancy folks are in town campaigning — Precinct Delegates get first dibs on those seats!
- In order to vote at any democratic party meetings or conventions – you MUST be a member of the MDP 30-days in advance… but the 30-day requirement is waived for Precinct Delegates. You still have to join the MDP, but you can do so the day-of and are eligible to vote! (But please, do not procrastinate your membership!!)

If you win your election then you are the precinct delegate for your neighborhood until August 2028.
